Molly-Dodd Adams
Expert Copywriter
Talented, versatile writer and editor skilled in persuasive marketing and business communications.
Background
I’ve been writing and editing professionally for more than 20 years. When COVID hit, I left my 8-to-5 job to pursue more meaningful work: helping small business owners win more customers through effective copy for digital marketing—copy for websites, email campaigns, blogging, and strategic social media campaigns.
I enjoy writing compelling copy that gets results—more customers for your services or more donors for your non-profit.
Persuasive Writing
After living and breathing “Good-Better-Best” retail sales copy for a decade, I left the corporate world to write for higher education, where I sharpened my persuasive writing skills to engage alumni and donors and to help meet our fundraising goals. I have written white papers to raise awareness, educate, and engage. I have also worked on political campaigns with a focus on voter education and engagement.
Fundraising
No matter how worthy your cause, you need to have clear, SMART goals, and a multi-pronged communications plan to drive donations and engage volunteers. Fundraising writing is like sales writing. To raise money, you need to understand your target audience, their pain points, and their passions.
I am an experienced communications planner with success in earned media, paid advertising, social media, direct mail, and targeted email campaigns. From developing a customer (donor) journey map to donor stewardship, I can help you develop a multi-faceted communications plan to increase your donor base, increase donor giving, and meet and exceed your fundraising goals.
Home Improvement
I was fortunate to work for The Home Depot—the nation’s largest home improvement retailer—for more than a decade when it ranked as high as 13th on the Fortune 500 list. I worked in merchandising, print advertising, internal communications, and store communications.
I wrote about product features and “how-to" project instructions to educate customers and our store associates by learning directly from our vendors and our customers—because you can’t sell what you don’t know how to use!
